Ziegert Records Second Consecutive Top-10 Finish

Stanford, Calif.-Madeleine Ziegert recorded her second consecutive top-10 finish Sunday afternoon at the Peg Barnard Invitational at the Stanford Golf Course.  The Spartans finished sixth with a 619.

Ziegert finished tied for eighth at 149 in the two-round tournament.  She shot a one-over 72 in her first round that had one birdie, 15 pars and just two bogeys.  Ziegert then shot a 77 in the second round for a 149. 

Teams finished their first round Sunday before playing the second round.  Katrina Delen-Briones had her best finish of the season as she tied for 16th at 151.  She shot a 77 in the first round and added a 74 in a second round that had one birdie and 13 pars.

Rachelle Reali was 32nd at 157, while Jody Ho was 48th at 162.  Jennifer Brumbaugh rounded out the Spartan team scoring at 167 to finish 58th.  Stephanie Gibri played as an individual and finished 48th at 162.

San Jose State's next action is the annual Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational, February 28 and March 1, at the Almaden Golf and Country Club in South San Jose.  Teams will begin play each day with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.  Live scoring will be available on www.golfstat.com.
