After opening the 2011 spring schedule with an eighth-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational, the Spartan women's golf team plays its next two tournaments in the Bay Area beginning with this weekend at the Peg Barnard Invitational at the Stanford Golf Course.
Saturday's play begins with a 9:00 a.m., shotgun start, followed by an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday. Admission is free to the event.
San Jose State is of 10 teams competing at the tournament - Stanford, California, Washington, Washington State, UC Davis, Santa Clara, Fresno State, Colorado and Rollins College. The course will play at 6,100 yards and par 71.
The Spartans lineup for the tournament includes Katrina Delen-Briones, Madeleine Ziegert, Jennifer Brumbaugh, Tiffany Nichols and Jody Ho. Stephanie Gibri will be competing as an individual.

After this tournament. San Jose State hosts the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational on February 28 and March 1 at the Almaden Golf and Country Club. Admission is free, with shotgun starts each day 8:15 a.m.
