Women's Golf Eighth After One Round

Stanford, Calif.-Madeleine Ziegert and Shraddhanjali Singh each shot a 78 Saturday as the women's golf team played at the Peg Barnard Invitational on the Stanford Golf Course.  San Jose State is currently eighth in the team standings with a 315.

Ziegert and Singh are tied for 21st, while Cristina Corpus is 29th after shooting a 79.  Jody Ho shot an 80, while Katrina Delen-Briones had an 83.  Kim Punyasavatsut, playing as an individual, rounded out the scoring with an 89.

"Today's results represent what happens when poor golf execution meets a very difficult challenge," said head coach John Dormann.

Round two begins with the shotgun start at 8 a.m. Sunday.
