The San Jose State University women's golf program invites you to attend An Evening with Juli Inkster and Pat Hurst to benefit Spartan golfer Jody Ho on Friday, January 20, 2012, at The Villages Golf & Country Club in San Jose.
Hosted by Mitch Juricich from KNBR's Hooked on Golf, all proceeds from the evening will be used to help offset the medical expenses incurred by Spartan women's golfer Jody Ho. She was diagnosed with a bone marrow disorder in August and stepped away from competition and school to focus on her health. Ho was a senior on this year's team and has been a member of three Western Athletic Conference championship teams.
"Jody has shown tremendous courage during this time, going through all of these tests and uncertainties," said San Jose State head coach John Dormann. "She continues to maintain a positive outlook and looks forward to the day she can rejoin the Spartan team. Jody has an enthusiasm and love of the game that is not found in many."
Former Spartan All-Americans Juli Inkster and Pat Hurst agreed to host this evening of fun and fellowship with fellow Spartan supporters. Inkster was a three-time All-American during her collegiate career and has 31 career LPGA victories. Hurst was a two-time All-American at San Jose State and won the 1989 NCAA individual title while leading the Spartans to the national championship. Both were recently inducted into the NGCA Players Hall of Fame.
"This is the most important event that I have been a part of in my 14 years at San Jose State," said Dormann. "This is a unique opportunity to spend quality time with two San Jose State women's golf greats. We are very excited that they are taking time from their busy lives to help a fellow Spartan during a difficult situation."
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m., with a VIP reception with Inkster and Hurst. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 6:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in attending or donating to the evening can download the RSVP form located at the top of this page or call Paula Minklein at (408) 924-1218.
"I hope the Spartan faithful will join us for a wonderful night to be filled with laughs and tears while reminiscing with two Spartan greats," said Dormann.
