San Jose, Calif.-----The University of Oregon outlasted the University of California-Davis and 11 other teams to win the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational women's golf tournament at the Almaden Country Club.

Ranked 20th nationally by GolfStat, the Ducks shot a final-round even par 288 for an 876 total on the par 72, 6,162-yard course for their first victory of the 2013-14 season. UC Davis, ranked 35th, held several two-shot leads during the last 18 holes, but finished second at 878.

Cathleen Santoso and Cassy Isagawa led the way for Oregon with sub-70 scores. Santoso had a bogey-free 18 holes and was one of two players with the low score of the final round with a four-under 68. She shared medalist honors with Martina Edberg of CSU Fullerton and Sammi Stevens of New Mexico at three-under par 216. Isagawa contributed a 69 to the Ducks' win with four birdies in eight holes after opening her day with a bogey-6 on hole 10.

San Jose State freshman My Leandermatched Santoso's 68 and finished fourth at one-under par 215. Leander recorded the best 18-hole score by a Spartan this season and notched the top individual finish by a San Jose State player in 2013-14. Leander finished strong with three birdies on her last four holes and six over all for the round.

Leander's score helped San Jose State post the low team total for the final round with a one-under par 287 and a season-best third-place finish at 883. Kathleen Rojas also turned in her best round of the season with a one-under par 71 and finished tied for 13th in the 69-player field at 222. Rachelle Realiturned in her second top-20 finish in a row tying for 17th at 223.

The Spartans were the top finisher among the six Mountain West Conference teams in the 13-team field. New Mexico was fourth at 891 and the University of San Francisco rounded out the top five teams at 892. Boise State, tenth at 902; Colorado State, 11th at 907; Fresno State, 12th at 911 and Nevada, 13th with a 926 were the other Mountain West teams entered.

San Jose State is back in action, Monday and Tuesday, March 17 and 18, at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic.
