Dec. 6, 2016

Senior wide receiver Tim Crawley and senior women’s basketball player Dezz Ramos are the November Spartan Foundation Student-Athletes of the month, presented by O’Connor Hospital.

Crawley capped off an outstanding month by scoring San José State’s only touchdown in the 16-14 win over the rival Fresno State. Crawley was San Jose State's leading receiver in three games during the month, catching 21 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown. He was selected as San Jose State's first National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete, and is currently in New York for the awards ceremony. He was also named to the CoSIDA All-District VIII football team for the second consecutive season.

Ramos finished November as the Mountain West’s leading scorer, while leading the team in free throws and assists. Ramos equaled a 17-year-old Event Center record when she scored 38 points versus Pacific on Nov. 18. Two nights later she dropped 30 points against Santa Clara, and led the Spartans to their first win of the young season. Ramos was later named the Mountain West Player of the Week. Ramos averaged 11.4 points and 3.7 assists in three games at the Rainbow Wahine Showdown, earning All-Tournament Team honors.
