Reno, Nev. - In this season's opening game of Mountain West play, the San José State women's basketball team handed the Nevada Wolf Pack a 107-84 defeat and almost two months to the day, UNR returned the favor cruising to a 108-85 win on Tuesday night in the Lawlor Event Center.

"We let them do what they wanted to in the second half," said head coach Jamie Craighead. "They went to the line way to much and when you let a team get into a groove on senior night, it will spell disaster for you. That happened to us."

Jasmine Smith scored a career-high 26 points on 12-of-15 shooting and 2-of-2 from the free throw line, and Dezz Ramos had a 26 point, 10 assist double double, but Nevada used a big advantage on the free throw line and hot shooting in the final 16 minutes to hand SJSU a crucial loss with just one game left in the regular season.

San José State (10-19, 7-10 MW) led 48-45 at halftime and still held a 56-54 advantage with 6:30 to play in the third, but from there is was all Wolf Pack. They closed the quarter on a 25-11 run and continued the romp on the fourth period outscoring San Jose State 29-18 en route to the 23-point victory.

UNR shot 62 percent (23-of-37) in the second half including 67 percent (12-of-18) in the fourth quarter to put the Spartans away.

On the night the Wolf Pack (11-17, 5-12 MW) was whistled for 13 fouls to the Spartans 23 and went 22-of-28 from the line compared to SJSU, which was 11-of-14.
