2004 men's cross country season in review

The 2004 men's cross country season opened at the USF Invitational. This meet gave many newcomers to team a chance to gain experience through competition as the Spartans ran against such top schools as nationally-ranked Stanford and UCLA.

As Coach Argabright noted, "The team was very young, most of the runners had a hard time adjusting to the longer distance (5 Miles) instead of the (3miles) that they ran in high school."

The season was highlighted by junior Ryan Rogers earning second-team All-WAC honors and qualifying for the Western Regional meet.

"Rogers is, no doubt, one of the top runners in the state," said Argabright. "He's a definite
candidate for the All-WAC team next year."

The Spartans concluded the 2004 season finishing sixth out of six teams at the 2004 Western Athletic cross country Championships held at Lincoln Parish Park in Ruston, La.
