Coronado, Haefele To Race At NCAA West Region Meet

Senior David Haefele, and junior Alfredo Coronado of the men's cross country team will represent San Jose State University as individuals at the 2009 NCAA West Region Meet.

The 10,000-meter long West Region Meet is hosted by the University of Oregon, and will take place at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, at Springfield Country Club.

"We have felt confidence in both of these runners all season long, and we continue to feel that way about their chances of success in this race," said head coach Augie Argabright.

Haefele was the lone senior on the San Jose State men's team, and was named the team captain in the beginning of the season. His best finish of the year was at the USF Invitational on September 5, 2009 where he placed 19th (26:00.20).

Coronado had three top-ten performances on the year, including a fourth place finish at the Bronco Invitational on October 17. He turned in two sixth place finishes, at the Charles Bowles Invitational, and the USF Invitational.
