Men’s Cross Country Second at Bronco Invitational

Belmont, Calif.-----The San Jose State University men’s cross country team finished second out of six teams at the Bronco Invitational held at the Crystal Springs Course on October 6.

The Spartans finished with a team score of 37, four points away from host Santa Clara, which won the meet with 33. Each team had four runners place in the top-10, but the difference was Santa Clara’s number three and four runners, scoring sixth and seventh, respectively compared to San Jose State’s third and fourth runners, Robby Philipp and Angel Hernandez scoring eighth and tenth, respectively.

Matthew Heard was the top Spartan finisher placing fourth with a 26:43 time. Roberto Lopez, running for Fresno Pacific was first with a 25:47 clocking.
