Men's Cross Country Seventh at Aggie Open

Davis, Calif.-----The San Jose State University men’s cross country team finished seventh in a 25-team field at the Aggie Open Inviational meet hosted by UC Davis.
The Spartans posted a team score of 223. Host UC Davis won the team competition scoring 19, four points away from a perfect score of 15. California was second with 81 followed by Santa Clara with 165, the Hoy’s Excelsior Club team with 169 and Alaska Anchorage with 171 to round out the top five teams.
Matthew Heard was the top Spartan finisher placing 34th among 241 runners with a time of 26.32.10 on the 8,000-meter UC Davis course.
The men’s cross country team returns to action next Saturday at the Stanford Invitational.
