Men's Cross Country 13th at Cal Poly Invitational

San Luis Obispo, Calif.-----The San Jose State University men’s cross country team finished 13th out of 15 teams at the Cal Poly Invitational on October 13.

The Spartans had a team total of 399, far behind host Cal Poly, which had a score of 48. California was the only other team in the field that had a score under with its 93.

Robby Philipp was the first Spartan to cross the finish line in 87th place with a time of 29:51.8 for 8,000 meters. David Jackson of Cal Poly was the top individual with a 26:14.6 clocking.

The team returns to action, Saturday, October 27, at the Western Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the University of Hawai’i.
