The San Jose State men's cross country team will compete in the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Championship this Saturday, October 30 in Moscow, Idaho.
The coaches' poll chose the Spartans to finish 6th out of 7 in this year's race.
The championship race hosted by the University of Idaho will be held at Virgil Phillips Farm County Park located about five miles north of Moscow.
San Jose State got off to a fast start by winning the Battle of the Bay race back on September 4. Alfredo Coronado finished first individually and it was the beginning of a very productive year for him.
Coronado was a three-time WAC athlete of the week during the 2010 regular season.
The Spartan men's team has never finished higher that fifth place in the WAC Championships since the programs beginning in 1996.
Other than the win at the start of the season, some notable finishes are: 14th out of 25 at the UC Riverside Invitational (9/18), and 7th out of 30 at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic (9/25).
"We're feeling good going into this final race of the year," says head coach Augie Argabright. "Everybody on the team is healthy and ready to give it their best on Saturday."
