Men's Cross Country Sixth At Gator Invitational

San Francisco, Calif. ------ Kellen Cole and Luke Galvan led the San Jose State men's cross country team as it finished sixth out of 14 teams in the Gator Invitational on October 8.

Cole (27:06) and Galvan (27:10) came in 41st and 45th place respectively on the 8K course through Golden Gate Park.

Juan Ruiz (56, 27:28), Alex Esparza (68, 27:45), and Hector Lopez-Garcia (77, 28:06) rounded out the top-five scorers for the Spartans.

The University of San Francisco scored 55 points and finished in first place. All five of its runners finished in the top 15.

"We're proud of the way these guys ran today," said San Jose State head coach Augie Argabright. "Everyone in the lineup today ran a strong race and we're happy with the results."

Men's cross country is on the move again next Saturday, October 16, at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.
