Cross Country Running At SF State Invite

The San Jose State men and women's cross country teams will compete in the San Francisco State Invitational this Friday, October 7 inside Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Calif.

The 6-kilometer women's race includes 186 individuals from 18 schools and will begin at 2:30 p.m. on the Speedway Meadow course.

The men's 8-kilometer race will follow at 3:15 p.m. with a field of 19 schools and 192 individuals.

Aylin Mejia and Juan Ruiz were the top finishers for the Spartans in their most recent race at the Willamette Invitational where the men finished ninth of 15 and the women were eighth out of 16.

Six out of seven runners on the San Jose State men's team that finished in the top half of the field in last year's San Francisco State Invitational are returning to compete again on Friday.

The race on San Francisco State Invite and the Bronco Invitational coming up on October 15 are the final chances to tune up before the Western Athletic Conference championships on October 29.
