Men 5th at the Stanford Cross Country Invitational Meet

Stanford, Calif.-----Led by junior Matthew Heard, San Jose State University finished fifth out of eight teams at the Stanford University cross country invitational meet.
Heard turned in a time of 12:08 on the 4,000-meter course on the Stanford University campus. Angel Hernandez with a 12:36 clocking, Robby Philipp at 12:40 and David Leon with a 12:50 time also broke the 13:00 minute mark.
The Spartans finished with a team score of 145. Stanford won the team competition with a near-perfect score 15. Only the Cardinal’s displaced sixth and seventh place finishers kept Stanford from a perfect 15 score.
Stanford sophomore Grant Robison won the "short" course race with a time of 10:54.
