Coronado Earns WAC Athlete Of The Week For Third Time

Denver, Colo. -- San Jose State's Alfredo Coronado of the men's cross country team has been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 22-28.

     Coronado's performance in the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic on September 25 earned him his third athlete of the week award in as many races in 2010.

     Coronado, a senior from Santa Clarita Calif., finished the 8K grass course in 24:31.38. He came in sixth place overall in a field of 264 competitors from 30 different schools.

     His time and place helped San Jose State to a seventh place finish in the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic.

     Coronado and the Spartans have a week off before they run in the Gator Invitational in San Francisco, Calif., on October 8.
