Spartans Head To Stanford Invitational

Following their best finishes in the early season, San Jose State closes out September competing in the Stanford Invitational conducted on the Stanford University campus, Saturday, September 27. The men's 8000-meter race begins at 10:50 a.m. (PDT), with the women's 6000-meter race to follow at 11:30 a.m. (PDT).

The Spartans had a bye week on September 20 after competing in the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic. San Jose State finished eighth out of 29 teams on the men’s side and fifth out of 36 in the women’s division. The women’s team has finished fifth in each of its first two races.

David Haefele has been the top Spartan runner on the men’s side in each of the team’s first two meets. Beth Raymond, who has a pair of top-30 finishes, led the San Jose State women in Memphis. Nisha Richardson was the first Spartan to cross the finish line in the opening meet hosted by the University of San Francisco.

There is no admission charge to watch the race. Spectator parking and viewing is available near the Stanford University horse stables.
