Men's Cross Country Back In Action Saturday

The San Jose State men's cross country team will be in full stride this Saturday September 18, at the 30th annual UC Riverside Invitational. The men's race will start at 8:15 a.m. at the 8,000 meter Agricultural Operations Course near the campus of UC Riverside.

The Invitational will be the Spartans' first event after taking the top four individual places, and first place as a team in the September 4, "Battle of the Bay" race.

San Jose State finished 9th out of 30 teams in the 2009 UC Riverside Invitational. Alfredo Coronado was the Spartans' top finisher in that race. Coronado enters this year's race after earning his first career individual victory two weekends ago.

"This race will be a true test to see what level our team is at, and we feel confident going in," said Spartans' head coach . "With about 400 runners and some top teams from around the nation, this will be our toughest competition of the season."Augie Argabright
