SAN JOSE, Calif. – Nick Liebmann, a 2015 community college All-American for the College of the Canyons, plans to enroll at San Jose State University this fall and compete for the Spartans’ men’s cross country team. San Jose State men’s cross country coach Brad Wick made the announcement.
At last year’s California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in Fresno, Calif., Liebmann finished 14th with a time of 20:52.4, to earn All-America honors and help the Cougars finish third in the team standings.
“We are excited to have Nick join the team. He should be an immediate impact to our top seven and should have an easy transition to 8K with his junior college experience,” said Wick.
The Santa Clarita Valley, Calif., native is coming to San José State as a sophomore with three seasons of athletics eligibility remaining for cross country.
During the 2015 cross country season, Liebmann helped the Cougars win their third straight Western State Conference (WSC) title. Liebmann had his highest finish of the season, placing sixth with a time of 20:11.2 in the four-mile meet.
