COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State University men’s cross country team was recognized as an All-Academic team by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the USTFCCCA announced.

The Spartans were one of six Mountain West men’s cross country teams and one of 171 nationally to be honored as an All-Academic team after posting a 3.26 GPA in the fall semester.

"Having our men's team be named All-Academic is a great honor. It shows that they are not only dedicated athletes but also dedicated students. The guys take pride in living the lifestyle where academics and athletics is the main priority and this is a great indication of that," said Spartans cross country coach Brad Wick.

Earlier in the month, junior Ben Branagh, senior Jannik Ernst, sophomore Craig Huff, freshman Jose Piña and junior Raul Rodarte were named to the Fall 2015 Academic All-Mountain West team.
