Men's Distance Runners Compete At Dual Track & Field Meets

LOS ANGELES – A trio of San José State distance runners competed at two meets, in the Mt. SAC Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday night.

Running the 10,000-meter race at Mt.SAC Relays, Ben Branagh competed against the highest seeded runners in the elite division of the invitational section and ran a 30:48.63, finishing 27th out of 33 runners in the heat.  

Also running in the 10,000m at the Mt.SAC Relays, but at a lower division then Branagh due to his seed time, was Jose Piña. Piña completed the race in 31:03.71, finishing 25th out of 31 runners in the heat.

In the other meet of the night, at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Raul Rodarte finished in 14th place out of 25 runners in the 5,000m heat with a time of 15:36.67. The time was more than 24 seconds slower than what he ran at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival earlier in the month.
