Men's Track & Field

Known around the world, the San José State University men's track and field program will be reinstated beginning with the 2018 semester.

The Spartans were at their best during the Speed City Era that spanned from the late 1950's into the 1970's. Olympic Games gold medalists Tommie Smith, Lee Evans, Ronnie Ray Smith and Willie Steele and bronze medalists John Carlos and John Powell are among the legendary Spartan greats.

San Jose State won the 1969 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship and has 16 top-10 team finishes. Through the years, 25 Spartans won a NCAA individual championship.
