Late goal gives New Mexico 1-0 win over men's soccer

Albuquerque, N.M.-----Patrick Grange scored from 18 yards in front of the San Jose State University net in the 83rd minute as the University of New Mexico handed the Spartans their first loss in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play, 1-0.

San Jose State (9-4-2, 4-1 MPSF) remained in first place in the conference standings as its three-game winning streak ended.

Andrew Weber made five saves in goal for the Lobos (5-8-3, 2-2 MPSF). Tyler Tratten of San Jose State also made five saves as New Mexico out-shot the Spartans, 22-10.

The Spartans return to action Sunday, November 2 when they host San Diego State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest. Game time is 1:00 p.m. on the Spartan Soccer Field.
