A few spots left for men's soccer golf tournament fund-raiser

Julie Menendez will receive a
Lifetime Achievement Award
from the SJSU men's soccer
program at the team's 2002
fund-raising golf tournament.
The 2002 San Jose State University Men's Soccer fund-raising golf tournament, scheduled for Monday, July 22, has over 100 golfers signed up to play the Coyote Creek Course in South San Jose.

The tournament is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start beginning at 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top team, the player closest to the hole on each par three on the course and to the player with the longest drive on the designated hole.

Besides a day of golfing fun, the 6:00 p.m. banquet dinner following the tournament will feature the legendary Julie Menendez receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from Spartan soccer. Menendez coached the San Jose State soccer team for 36 years, piled up 295 wins and took the team to 11 NCAA Tournaments.

Cost for the entire day's activities, lunch, golf and dinner is $175.00 per person. There is just a $30.00 per person charge for those who can only attend the banquet dinner honoring Julie Menendez.

Sposnorships ranging from $200.00 to $5,000 are still available.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the student-athlete scholarship fund for men's soccer.
