Tim McKinney is the first Spartan
this season to earn MPSF
"Player of the Week" honors.
Woodland, Calif.-----Tim McKinney, the leading scorer on the 2004 San Jose State University men’s soccer team, was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation "Co-Player of the Week" for the week ending October 24.

McKinney scored two goals and added an assist in the Spartans’ conference wins over the Air Force Academy and the University of Denver last week. The senior from Fresno, Calif., was credited with the go-ahead goal in the 3-2 win over Air Force and scored the game-winning tally in the second overtime against Denver.

The two wins were San Jose State’s first victories of the season against teams that had .500 or better win-loss records prior to the contest and extended the team’s winning streak to a season-long three matches.
McKinney shared the conference recognition with University of New Mexico goalkeeper Andrew Weber.

San Jose State (4-9-1, 3-4 MPSF) returns to action, Friday, October 29, at San Diego State in a 2:00 p.m. match.
