3 Dylan Pender

SJSU: In his first season at San Jose State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Dylan Pender was a three-year starter on the varsity soccer team at Evanston (Ill.) Township High School. As a senior, Pender was named first-team all-state, first-team all-area by the Chicago Pioneer Press and second team all-area by the Chicago Tribune. He scored seven goals and had 12 assists. He also attended the Bollettieri Soccer Academy in Brandenton, Fla. for one year and played for its U-19 team.

Dylan Wesley Pender was born on Jan. 20, 1983, in Evanston, Ill. His parents are Steven Freier and Hilary Pender. He has one brother, Brett Pender (20). His great-uncle, Jim Gilmore, is part of the Gilmore Racing Team whose driver is A.J. Foyt. Pender is majoring in business administration. His favorite activities including driving old muscle cars. Pender was a member of the Olympic Development Program, Region II team in 2000-01 and was a member of the Illinois state select team from 1996-2001. His club team, the Chicago Magic, was the U-16 national champions and the U-17 national runners-up.
