Men's soccer rounded out coaching staff with pair of moves

San Jose, Calif. - Chris Behler was promoted to a full-time assistant coach, and former Spartan student-athlete Dan Oka joined as a volunteer assistant coach in a pair of moves by the San Jose State University men’s soccer program. The announcements were made by Spartan head coach Gary St. Clair.

Behler is in his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Spartans. He began his coaching career at San Jose State as a graduate assistant in 2003.

Oka was an All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Honorable Mention honoree under St. Clair in 2005. He started all 19 games and provided three goals and seven assists in his only season as a Spartan. He played at Fresno State from 2001-03. Oka is pursuing a degree from San Jose State University in business administration, with a concentration in international business.

Earlier, Ron Smare, who has been on the staff with St. Clair since his first year in charge in 1990, was promoted from assistant coach to associate head coach.
