San Jose, Calif.-----Josh Boemecke's second goal of the match with less than 15 minutes remaining gave San Jose State University a 3-2 win over UC Riverside in the season-opening men's soccer match for both teams.

San Jose State goalkeeper Jonathan Lester was credited with one save. UC Riverside goalkeeper Nick Goldenreich made three saves.
The Spartans return to action, Friday, September 3 hosting Cal State Monterey Bay in Spartan Stadium. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
