Men's Soccer Picked Sixth In Coaches Poll

Woodland, Calif. - The San Jose State men's soccer team has been picked to finish sixth in the preseason Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) coaches poll, which was released today.

The top vote getter and preseason pick to win the conference is Cal State Bakersfield with 46 points and five first-place votes.  New Mexico and Denver tied for second after each garnered 41 points and two and one first-place votes, respectively.  Sacramento State, with 30 points, came in fourth and UNLV, with 22, placed fifth. San Jose State recieved 19 points, Air Force 13 and Seattle 12 to round out the poll.

The Spartans play an exhibition match at preseason No. 7 California this Saturday, August 20 at 2:00 p.m. in Edwards Stadium on the Cal campus.  San Jose State opens the regular season at home on August 26, 2011 when they host Fresno Pacific.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in SpartanStadium.
