SJSU Men's Soccer 2-1 Winner at Saint Mary's

Moraga, Calif.-----Daniel Castillo scored early in the second half breaking a 1-1 tie as the San Jose State University men’s soccer team posted a 2-1 non-conference win over Saint Mary’s College.

Castillo, who scored his first goal of the season, was assisted by Thomas Gibson at the 50:20 mark of the game.

The Spartans took the lead quickly at 3:30 of the opening half as Lars Lyssand scored an unassisted goal. Saint Mary’s tied the score just before halftime on a Brian Voltattorni goal.

Spartan goalkeeper Gilbert Vega faced just eight shots, was credited with three saves as San Jose State improved to 2-0.

Saint Mary’s dropped to 1-1.
