Men's Soccer Match Cancelled By Gonzaga After A Delayed Start

The San Jose State University men's soccer team's last game of the season against Gonzaga was cancelled at the request of the Bulldogs head coach after an hour delay in the start of the match.

When the game's officials did not show up at 2:00 p.m. the game was delayed until the officiating crew arrived. The officials showed up shortly after 3:00 p.m. and the Spartans gave the Gonzaga coach the option of playing the match, but the Bulldogs coach declined and the match was cancelled.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at 7:30 p.m. at Spartan Stadium, but was rescheduled to be played at the Spartan soccer practice field and to start earlier due to the field's lack of lighting.
