Two Spartans Named To MPSF Men's Soccer All-Academic Team

Dan Fife and Lars Lyssand of the San Jose State University men's soccer team have been selected to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation 2000 academic all-conference team. The team was announced Jan. 19 by the MPSF office.

Fife, a senior defender, has a 3.78 GPA. He is majoring in kinesiology with
a minor in business.


A junior midfielder, Lyssand is a business major with a 3.28 GPA.


To qualify, student-athletes must possess a cumulative grade point average
of 3.0 or better; must be at least a sophomore academically; must have
completed at least one full academic year at the institution they are
currently competing at; and must have participated in 50 percent or more ot
their
institution's competition in the student-athlete's particular sport.
