SOLD OUT! - Fourth annual men's soccer fund-raising golf tournament

Gary St. Clair is ecstatic about
the golf and dinner "sell out."
The fourth annual San Jose State University men’s soccer fund-raising golf tournament and awards banquet on May 13 at the Coyote Creek Golf Course is a sell-out. Head coach Gary St. Clair received reservations for a full field of 144 golfers and 190 dinner guests.

"This is our first sell-out. I’m ecstatic that we have filled all of our available golf slots. This tournament is the number-one fund-raiser for our program. I can’t be any more pleased about the turnout," said St. Clair who is entering his 16th season as the Spartans’ head coach.

Following dinner and a live auction, San Jose State soccer greats Mani Hernandez and Ovadia Mizrahi will be honored. Hernandez, the 1968 Hermman Award winner as the country’s top player, coaches soccer at San Jose’s Presentation High School. Mizrahi, a defender on the 1974 through 1976 Spartan teams, is a local real estate developer.

Auction items include travel with the San Jose State men’s soccer team to Las Vegas this fall when the Spartans face UNLV in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match, a trip that includes a 2005-06 English Premier League match; and the opportunity to watch a Manchester United game in person.

St. Clair indicated he is prepared to take reservations for the 2006 fund-raising golf tournament and dinner. Interested parties can call (408) 924-1261 or contact him by email at gstclair@email.sjsu.edu.
