Men's Soccer Spring Match With Santa Clara Postponed

San Jose, Calif. - The spring game between San Jose State University and South Bay rival Santa Clara University, scheduled for Spartan Stadium on Friday, April 9, has been postponed to Friday, April 23.

With its new date, the match replaces the previously-announced date with the Mexico U-20 national team, which has been cancelled. Instead, San Jose State will host the Pacific Soccer Academy (PSA) Storm, based in Los Gatos, Calif., on Sunday night, April 18. The Storm's senior team competes in the NorCal Premier Soccer League this year, as it gets set to move into the United Soccer Leagues' Premier Development Division (PDL) in 2011.

The Spartans, at an even 1-1 thus far in the spring, are back on the FieldTurf on Friday, April 16, against 2006 national champion UC Santa Barbara of the Big West Conference. The Gauchos play host to the 2010 NCAA Men's College Cup at their own Meredith Field at Harder Stadium in December.

Kick-off time for the three remaining contests, all at Spartan Stadium, is slated for 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. Parking is available in the lots off of South Seventh Street.
