San Jose, Calif. - Darren Sinclair, a forward/midfielder and topdrawersoccer.com four-star prospect, has signed a National-Letter-of-Intent to compete for the San Jose State men's soccer team beginning in the Fall of 2014. First year head coach Simon Tobin made the announcement.
"Darren is my first signing at San José State," said Tobin, "and I'm excited because he is a local product. Darren has tremendous pace, and will prove to be an attacking threat from deep."
Sinclair has competed for the San Jose Earthquakes in their U.S. Soccer Development Academy program for the last three years starting 33 of the last 37 matches for Coach Marquis White.
Prior to his time in the Earthquakes program, Sinclair spent three years with the Las Gatos FC. He scored 48 goals and assisted on 26 more as a member of the Untied Rangers. His team's won two NorCal Premier Soccer League Championships (2008 & 2009) and was District Cup finalist in 2010.
"Darren offers our fans a glimpse of the future of our program," Tobin said. " We want the best California talent, who always look to attack."
An honor roll student at San Jose's Santa Teresa High School, Sinclair will graduate in May.
