Billal Samy joins the Spartans Men’s Soccer program with great excitement and optimism. He joins the Spartans after serving as an Assistant Coach at Cal Men’s Soccer, under Pac-12 veteran Kevin Grimes.

Samy’s work at the youth level has earned him a reputation for developing technically & tactically sound players and teams. As the boy’s director and head coach (2000, 2001 and 2002 age groups) at Lamorinda Soccer Club, Samy was pivotal in creating an environment for both player development and success. Prior to dedicating his time fully to coaching, Samy served as an Account Executive at both Major League Soccer (Blaine, Minnesota) and the San Jose Earthquakes.  During his time at the Earthquakes (2010-2011), Samy worked passionately to contribute to the growing Soccer Culture in the Bay Area.
