San Jose, Calif. - Scott Munger of Danville, Calif., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent with the San Jose State men's golf team, head coach John Kennaday announced.
Munger is a senior at Monte Vista High School. A member of the Junior Tour of Northern California, Munger shot a 10-under par 62 to set a new course record at Greenhorn Greek Golf Club in early October. The record-setting score won him the tour's Fall Series IV. At the IBA Sacramento Junior Golf Classic in June, he tied for second, finishing the tournament three under par.
Ashley is a senior at Valley Christian High School. Ashley, who plays on the Future Collegians World Tour, won the tour's event at Sandpiper Golf Club. At the 5th State Fair Junior Championship for boys 14-17 at Mather and Haggin Oaks in Sacramento, Calif., this August, Ashley finished third.
"We are incredibly excited that Scott and Matthew are joining us," Kennaday said. "They are young men with great potential, and we believe in them both a great deal. We are looking forward to working with them in the next few years."
