Spartans Gear Up For Price's Give 'Em Five Invite

The San Jose men's golf team is playing in their fifth tournament of the fall season this weekend at the Price's Give "em Five Invitational hosted by UTEP on October 26-27.


The 54-hole event will be played at the 7,307-yard par 72 Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Tex. The Tom Fazio designed course was rated third-best municipal course in the nation by Golfweek in 2010.


San Jose State joins Idaho, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts, Seattle University, Utah, UT-Arlington, Weber State Western New Mexico and host UTEP in the field.


The Spartans are coming off of a ninth place finish at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational back on October 15-16. Justin Estrada was San Jose State's low man in that event shooting a six-under par 207 over 54 holes.


The Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational is San Jose State's next-to-last tournament of the fall season. The field will play 36 holes on Friday with a shutgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT. The event concludes Saturday with 18 holes with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.
