Spartans End Fall Run At Herb Wimberly

The San Jose State men's golf team will tee it up in their fifth and final tournament of the fall season on October 24-25 at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.


The 54-hole tournament at the 7,014-yard, par 72 New Mexico State University Golf Course will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MT and will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes.


San Jose State is part of a 14-team field that includes #23-ranked Wichita State, UTEP, Rice, Western New Mexico, Idaho, #17-ranked UNLV , Northern Colorado, Texas State, Nebraska, Kansas, Weber State, Nevada and host New Mexico State.


The Spartans are averaging 71.95 strokes per round as a team, and have won three tournaments out of four tournaments so far. 


Most recently, San Jose State finished ninth out of 16 teams at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on October 17-18.


The Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate next week will be the final tournament for the Spartans until their spring season begins on February 1-3 at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate.
