Men's Golf 10th After 18 At Golfweek Challenge

Burlington, Iowa -- The San Jose State men's golf team is in a tie for 10th place after shooting 306 (+18) in the first round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Burlington, Iowa on September 16.

With 36 holes remaining the Spartans trail team leader Missouri (-2) by 20 strokes. Florida Gulf Coast, Kansas, and San Francisco are level with San Jose State in 10th place.

Justin Estrada was the low man for the Spartans. He led the field with 15 pars in round one, and a 73 puts him in a tie for 12th place on the player leader board.

Both Cody Blickensderfer and Daniel Semmler shot a five-over par 77 putting them in a tie for 40th place.

Connor Covington shot a 79 leaving him in 57th and Taylor Bromley in a tie for 62nd had an eight over 80.

Co-leaders Jace Long of Missouri and Steven Ihm from Iowa, set the pace for the field with 68's on Sunday.

The Golfweek Conference Challenge at the 7,360-yard par 72 Spirit Hollow Golf Course continues September 17 with the second round and concludes September 18 with the final 18 holes. 

Tee times for Monday begin at 9:00 a.m. CST off holes one and 10.
