Golfweek Conference Challenge Next For Men's Golf

The San Jose State men's golf team is set to tee it up in the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Burlington, Iowa beginning on September 16.

The 54-hole event at the 7,360-yard par 72 Spirit Hollow Golf Course lines up 15 teams, from 15 different conferences to go head to head. The field consists of: Iowa (Big Ten), Ball State (MAC), Campbell (Big South), Central Arkansas (Southland), Florida Gulf Coast (Atlantic Sun), Jacksonville State (Ohio Valley), Kansas (Big 12), Long Beach State (Big West), Missouri (SEC), San Francisco (West Coast), Tulsa (CUSA), Wake Forest (ACC) and Xavier (A10).

The Spartans are one of seven teams in the field that advanced to an NCAA Regional tournament in 2011-12.

San Jose State alongside Iowa and Wake Forest are teams in the field that received votes in the GolfWorld/Nike Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Spartans are coming off of a third place finish out of 11 teams at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on September 10-11.

Head coach John Kennaday in his eighth season will have the same lineup in the Golfweek Conference Challenge: Justin Estrada, Daniel Semmler, Taylor Bromley, Cody Blickensderfer and Connor Covington.

The tournament begins Sunday, September 16 and concludes Tuesday, September 18 with 18 holes played each day. Tee times for the first two rounds run between 9:00 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. CST on holes one and 10. A shotgun start for the final round is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. CST.
