Men's Golf Recognized In Golf World/Nike Poll

NEW YORK, NY - Golf World Magazine along with Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) consider San Jose State men's golf a top program heading into the 2012-13 season.

The Spartans received nine votes in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division I College Preseason Coaches' Poll which will appear in the September 3, 2012 issue of Golf World Magazine.

Returning this season for San Jose State are Justin Estrada and Daniel Semmler who each played over 30 rounds during last year's four win season, the first for the program since 1982. Connor Covington who helped hoist the WAC Championship trophy and competed in the 2012 NCAA West Regional is also returning.

The Alabama Crimson Tide claimed the top spot in the poll followed by the defending NCAA Champion Texas Longhorns. California, UCLA and Washington round out the preseason top-five.

San Jose State begins the 2012-13 campaign on September 10 at the Washington State Invitational.
