San José State men's golf alum Mark Hubbard recorded the highest finish of his rookie campaign on the Tour Sunday at the United Leasing Championship in Newburgh, Ind.

Hubbard entered the final day as the tournament's 54-hole leader following back-to-back 68's (-4) in rounds two and three. On Sunday, he shot a three-over 75 and finished the event in a tie for second place shooting 69-68-68-75-280 (-8)

The result moves the 2012 SJSU graduate up nine spots to 11th on the top-25 money list. It was his sixth top-10 finish of the year and he has now made nine cuts in his first 13 tournaments.

His 54-hole lead was his best position after any single round on the 2014 Tour.

The Denver, Colo., native was a member of PGA Tour Canada last year and finished No. 3 on the 2013 Order of Merit. Hubbard made the cut in eight of his nine starts and collected a win at the Wildfire Invitational in early September.

Hubbard was the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championship individual medalist as a senior at San José State.
