BANDON, Ore. -- San Jose State's Nick Brown shot a five-over 76 in the second round of the U.S. Amateur Public links Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on June 28.
A 36-hole score of 160 (+19) put him in a tie for 113th place and outside the cut at +12 to advance in the tournament.
Brown teed off on the back nine of the Old Macdonald course where he shot a two-over 39 with a birdie on the 535-yard par 5 15th hole. He finished the round with a 37 (+3) on the front side.
The Rocklin, Calif., native has a 76.16 career stroke average heading into his senior season as a Spartan.
Corbin Mills of Easley, S.C. is the tournament leader with a three-under 138 total as the 86th U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship turns to match play.
