SAN JOSE, Calif. – Chabot College men’s golfer Sean Talmadge from Hillsborough, Calif. signed a National Letter-of-Intent to compete for the San José State University men’s golf team beginning in the 2016-17 academic year. Spartan men’s golf head coach John Kennaday made the announcement.
“Sean is going to bring a boat load of talent, wonderful amount of potential and a competitive know-how backbone that will serve the mighty Spartans well in their endeavor to persevere,” said Kennaday.
Talmadge is the #1-player on the Chabot team which has won three tournamen wins season. He also qualified for the Northern California Golf Association’s Public Links Championship at the Bayonet and Poppy Hills Golf Courses along the Monterey Peninsula, April 25-26.
The former prep tennis standout from Junipero Serra High in San Mateo was the #2-ranked community college singles player in Northern California at Foothill College before transferring to Chabot.
During this spring season, Talmadge shot a one-under 71 at the Coast Division tournament on March 28 at Coyote Creek to help the team win by 11 strokes.
At the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Big 8 Conference Tournament on April 11, Talmadge paced Chabot with a two-under 70 at San Juan Oaks in Hollister to lead the Gladiators.
