UCLA Has 1st Round Lead; San Jose State, 10th

Santa Cruz, Calif.-----UCLA has the team lead and three players share the individual top spot after the first round of the 66th Western Intercollegiate men's golf tournament.

The Bruins have a 351 team score and has a two-stroke lead over Stanford. Host San Jose State is tenth in the 14-team field with a 380.

Texas senior Dylan Frittelli, Cal's Brandon Hagy and Stanford's Patrick Rodgers each carded a three-under par 67.

Connor Covington, playing as an individual, had the best first round San Jose State score with a two-over par 72. Covington is tied for 20th.

Second-round action is underway.
