Oberholser Ties For 25th At Masters

Augusta, Ga.-----Former San Jose State University men’s golf star Arron Oberholser finished in a tie for 25th place at the 2008 Masters, the season’s first major championship.

Oberholser posted a 292 total for 72 holes on the par 72, 7445-yard Augusta National Golf Club course. He had a final round 77 and had difficulties on the back nine for the second day in a row with two bogeys and a double bogey. Only three players among the 45 who made the 36-hole cut posted a final round score under par.

For the championship, Oberholser had the same number of birdies as odds-on favorite Tiger Woods, 11; and was among the top-10 players in the field for number of birdies on the par-3 holes, driving accuracy, fewest putts and sand saves.

Completing his third Masters in the last three years, Oberholser has finishes of 14th in 2006 and 58th in 2007.
