ASU Thunderbird Invitational Next For Spartans

For the second straight week San Jose State enters competition ranked at a season-best 75th place and will seek its 10th top-half tournament finish at the 39th annual ASU Thunderbird Invitational, April 9-10.

The 13 participating teams will square off at ASU's par 71, 7,057-yard Karsten Golf Course and will gear up to play 36 holes on Saturday, April 9 and a final round on Sunday, April 10.

Head coach John Kennaday is taking five golfers to Tempe. Senior Drew Nottenkamper, replacing Miguel Camitoc, earned the fifth spot in the lineup and will join senior Mark Hubbard; juniors Jay Myers and Matthew Hovan; and freshman Daniel Semmler on the trip.

After finishing sixth place at the OGIO-Santa Barbara Intercollegiate men's golf tournament, March 28-29, the Spartans roll in at 75th place by GolfStat national rankings. Joining the Spartans in the field are 11 top-100 teams.

#4-San Diego State, #16-California , #21-Arizona State, #23-USC, #40-Pepperdine , #42-UNLV, #49-Florida State, #54-Northwestern, #64-Colorado State, #83-Washington State, and #84-UC Irvine. Cal State Northridge rounds out the field.
