Spartans Finish Ninth At U.S. Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. -- San Jose State moved up from 14th to ninth behind Justin Estrada's one-under 69 in the final round of the U.S. Intercollegiate on April 1.

Estrada opened the round birdying two of the first four holes, and was as low as three-under par at one point. Estrada's sixth career sub-70 round moved him up into a tie for 37th place shooting 74-77-69-220 (+10).

"Our team is evolving and it was good to put down a better score today," said San Jose State head coach John Kennaday. "We may have played better yesterday but I think the elements got to us a little bit. Justin hit the ball better today and was able to put together a nice round for us."
